What locations do you serve?

We provide in-person services at our therapy space and schools in San Francisco.

We provide televideo services worldwide.

I am not in the Bay Area, what are my options?

Not local to the Bay Area? No problem! We are happy to provide services via televideo to anyone in need. We believe everyone should have access to services, no matter where they call home.

Do you work with parents only or children too?

We work with children and parents, together or separately. If we work with your child 1:1 at our office or their school, we require you to participate in monthly parent coaching sessions to ensure you have the tools and strategies to implement our guidance at home, as this is where we see real therapy results.

What is neuroaffirming care and why is it important?

Neuroaffirming care is an intentional decision to provide services and care in a highly personalized, unique, person-respecting manner, and to recognize that we are all products of our environment. Looking at the person first and empowering their autonomy and uniqueness is vital in providing safe, respectful and effective services.

Do you take insurance?

We accept private pay only. Payment through insurance is not currently an option, however, out-of-network benefits might be an option for some, but it is not guaranteed. All services are tailored to each family’s needs. Contact for more information on fees and receive a free consultation.

Do I need a diagnosis before starting therapy?

No. A diagnosis is not required to begin services. Many families come to us while still in the process of understanding what's going on, and we're glad to support you at whatever stage you're in, whether you have a formal diagnosis, a suspicion, or just know something feels different.

What ages do you work with?

We work with children and teens from 18 months through 18 years old.

What is "neuroaffirming" therapy, and how is it different from traditional therapy?

Neuroaffirming therapy centers around a child's autonomy and self-understanding, not compliance. Rather than teaching kids to mask or perform in ways that make them look/act like everyone else, we help them understand their own needs, build genuine self-advocacy skills, and learn how to get those needs met in the real world. Success isn't measured by how well a child conforms, it's measured by how well they understand and can speak up for themselves. That philosophy runs through every service we offer.

What's the difference between your ABA and traditional ABA?

Our behavior therapy is BCBA-led, meaning your child works directly with a Board Certified Behavior Analyst throughout their care. We also tend to recommend fewer weekly hours (learn more here) than what is standard, since we've found that high-quality, attuned sessions matter more than total hours logged.

Philosophically, we focus on connection and play rather than compliance and conformity, following the child's lead and centering their autonomy as we build skills together.

What does a typical session look like?

Sessions are play-based and tailored to your child's interests, age, and goals, whether that's a behavior therapy session, OT in our sensory gym, speech or a social skills group. We meet your child where they are rather than following a rigid script. Sessions are at our clinic where we have a wide variety of toys, games, art and movement activities to connect with each child’s unique interests. We build upon their skills by teaching their therapy goals through role play, modeling and practice.

How do I know if my child needs OT, ABA, speech therapy, or something else?

That's exactly what a free consultation is for. Many families aren't sure which service fits best, and our team will help you figure that out. Often a child benefits from more than one, working together as a coordinated team rather than in separate silos.

How soon can we get started / is there a waitlist?

Our availability differs by the day or week. Occasionally we have a waitlist for afterschool sessions (3pm-6pm), while we tend to have openings from 10am-2pm, but we recommend reaching out to get the best current answer.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes! Reach out through our contact page to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see if we're the right fit for your family.

What if my child has more than one diagnosis, or a diagnosis you didn't list?

We work with children with a wide range of diagnoses and differences: Autism, ADHD, anxiety, sensory processing differences, developmental delays and more. This also includes kids who don't fit neatly into one category. A diagnosis is not required to receive our services, however, we may recommend an evaluation once we begin working with your child and we note characteristics that fall under diagnostic criteria. If you're not sure whether we're a fit, reach out and we can talk it through.
